About Us
The Start
Gifting Grace Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Lafayette, Louisiana, founded in 2020.
Our mission is simple and powerful: to freely love, serve and support homeless and vulnerable children across Acadiana. We believe that when essential barriers are removed, every child has the opportunity to pursue their God-given purpose.
Through quarterly outreach projects, we provide critical resources—such as school supplies, backpacks, coats, hygiene kits, and personalized Christmas gifts—to children experiencing homelessness or housing adversity in nine local parishes. Since our launch, we have reached over 2,000 children annually.
We partner with local schools, social-service programs, churches, civic groups, businesses and individual volunteers to serve this mission. Whether it’s a coat-and-socks drive in winter, “Pack-the-Backpack” before school starts, or our annual “Sponsor a Homeless Child” Christmas initiative, we tailor opportunities to engage organizations, teams and individuals.
How you can get involved:
-
Be a business partner – Launch a collection drive in your office, sponsor a child or provide financial support to underwrite an outreach project.
-
Be a volunteer or team – Distribute kits, assemble backpacks, join our outreach teams, or host a “Lunch & Learn” to raise awareness.
-
Be an individual donor or sponsor – Give monthly or one-time, or sponsor a child for Christmas through our “Angel Tree” program.
At Gifting Grace Project, we believe that when community, compassion and resources converge, every child can step into hope, stability and opportunity.
Let’s work together — for the children, for Acadiana, for a future of possibility.
Through the generosity of our sponsors and the donations that we receive Gifting Grace Project was able to help our community by:
- Coordinating with a school counselor to provide food for a homeless family with 5 children.
- Providing 2 new car seats to a mom and 7 children who are living in car.
- Buying the required clothes for a graduating senior to wear under his graduation cap and gown.
- Providing housing for 2 families with brand new appliances, furniture, televisions and more.
- Much….much more.
