About Us

The Start

Gifting Grace Project was started in the fall of 2020 with the purpose of giving back to the Acadiana community that had lost so much that year. Initially, our goal was to provide holiday support, but we quickly realized the need for ongoing help when we contacted the Lafayette Parish School System (LPSS). They informed us that nearly 600 students were enrolled in their homeless program. This eye-opening moment sparked a drive to do more, and within four months, Gifting Grace Project was officially launched.

Our mission is to freely love, serve, and support homeless and indigent children in our community by providing them with essential resources, support services, and community advocacy. We aim to remove the unnecessary barriers these children face and help them discover a brighter future through education, shelter, and emotional support.

Our journey began with a successful Christmas outreach in 2020, where we were able to assist 218 students and three families. Since then, we’ve expanded our efforts, coordinating with local schools, social workers, and volunteers. Through generous donations, we have provided essentials like food, clothing, and furniture, while also offering emotional and educational support to guide these children toward a more hopeful future.

Through the generosity of our sponsors and the donations that we receive Gifting Grace Project was able to help our community by:

  • Coordinating with a school counselor to provide food for a homeless family with 5 children.
  • Providing 2 new car seats to a mom and 7 children who are living in car.
  • Buying the required clothes for a graduating senior to wear under his graduation cap and gown.
  • Providing housing for 2 families with brand new appliances, furniture, televisions and more.
  • Much….much more.
