537 Backpacks in 5 Parishes – 2021
In the third quarter of 2021, the Gifting Grace Project started a project called “Pack The Backpack” which is a back-to-school drive geared towards collecting and providing backpacks to homeless and impoverished children in our community. By the start of the 2021-2022 school year, we were able to collect and distribute 537 backpacks filled with pens, pencils, markers, paper, rulers, erasers, earbuds, kinder mats, kleenex, paper towels and lots more.
These backpacks were given to homeless children and youth across 5 Parishes including Acadia Parish, Iberia Parish, Lafayette Parish, St Martin Parish and Vermilion Parish.
Whether you would like to volunteer, donate money to the cause or collect school supplies to donate, we can’t wait to partner with Acadiana and bring smiles to their faces once again.
